About Command Hospital (Eastern Command)
Established in 1942, Command Hospital (Eastern Command) is one of the largest and most advanced armed forces hospitals in India, operating under the aegis of the Armed Forces Medical Services.
The hospital is spread over a sprawling 100-acre campus in Alipore, Kolkata, and serves as the referral tertiary care centre for all armed forces personnel and their families posted across the Eastern and North-Eastern regions of India. In recent decades, the hospital has also opened its doors to civilian patients, extending its high-quality, subsidized healthcare services to the general public.
